Thesis: Culture is the beliefs, customs, arts, ect. of a particular society, group, place or time. (Webster Online Dictionary) Cuba is rich and full of cultural backgrounds that influence its decision making for present and future regional affairs. Political parties as well as celebrity affairs heavily influence today’s society. Political Influence President Raul Castro of Cuba met with President Obama of the United States at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The two leaders spoke of the importance of normalization between both countries and how it can benefit future economical businesses. President Obama made it clear that the embargo for trade is going to change to a hassle free trade between the two countries and in support of human rights in Cuba. Cuba has opened up their borders for U.S companies, allowing U.S investors to physically step foot on country for travel and open up business in Cuba. In August, the American Flag rose over the U.S Embassy in Cuba for the first time in more than half a century. In July, Cuban officials inaugurated their embassy in Washington. (Halimah Abdullah, 2015) Political influences as such are more than enough to change cultural aspects for brother/sister allies. President Castro has made much of his term serving for the greater good of the Cuban population . He met with President Nieto of Mexico to address policy letters for trade, diplomacy, fishing, tourism, business, migration, education and human trafficking.
